Food is truly important to my aunty because our family had gone through Pol Pot Khmer rouge regime. She knows what it's like to starve and her appreciation of food comes from her past trauma.
Opened *2010* in Top Ryde City
Before this shop, the family ran St Clair Bread, Cakes and Pies. Kim was born in a refugee camp on the Thailand–Cambodia border before emigrating to Australia as a child. Recipes trace to Kim's grandmother, Min Himmy.
How the queue *grew*
Before Top Ryde
Him Yan and Fenzhi Lin ran St Clair Bread, Cakes and Pies — nearly 30 years in food before opening here in 2010.
October 2018
A tradie named Sam posted the banh mi to a pork roll appreciation Facebook page. The line hasn't been the same since.
January 2026
A TikTok review hit 1.5 million views. People now drive up to an hour; weekend waits can top an hour.
Still the same *counter*
It's home-style cooking, with everything made in-house, and super fresh ingredients.
Takeaway only — no dine-in at our shop, though food court seating is steps away. The Google listing still points to the shopping centre's page with the wrong hours. This is ours.
